About James

 

James’ civil litigation practice includes real property, trust and estate, and business disputes.  He is experienced in trials, arbitrations and appeals, but is often able to resolve conflicts through negotiation or mediation.  Each of his client relationships is personalized to best achieve the client’s goals.

 

James attended the UCLA School of Law after earning his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Point Loma Nazarene University. He completed law school at UCLA and joined the bar in 1999 after serving as articles editor for the Law Review, and as a judicial extern on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

 

James in the Community

 

James is a current member and former Director of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, and a past Editor of the Santa Barbara Lawyer Magazine.  He has also been a member of the American Inns of Court, an institution dedicated to advancing professionalism in the practice of law and developing a positive working relationship among local attorneys and judges.  Between court dates James enjoys live music, golf, sporting clays, snowboarding, and hiking.
